At St. John’s Academy, our intermediate level (grades 3-5) program, our learners find that their own curiosity will build their knowledge and confidence. At this age students ask the best and most unique questions, “How were the pyramids made?”, “How does a broken bone heal?”, “What makes a rainbow go away?” and more!
We encourage our intermediate students to take ownership of their learning more at this stage of their academic development. On a daily basis, our faculty supports student’s unique interests in order to allow student’s choice but also to foster meaningful relationships between teacher and student.
Our curriculum takes place in welcoming, comfortable classrooms and learning spaces that enable our certified faculty to hone their craft through the use of iPads, Chromebooks, manipulatives, hands-on explorations, project based learning and more. Our intermediate program offers a variety of subjects including:
- Balanced Literacy
- Social Studies
- Physical Education
Academic excellence, faith filled instruction and a call for social justice values make learning empowering and fun for our intermediate learners. Learning becomes achievable as our passionate faculty brings out the best in our learners by helping them reach their highest potential-cognitively, socially, emotionally and spiritually
SJA offers our intermediate learners various opportunities to extend their learning and personal interests beyond the regular school day. These include school enrichment opportunities, such as drama club, language classes, instrumental instruction and more. After School Care is available for intermediate learners until 6:30 pm on days school is in session.
