Volleyball

The St. John’s Sports Association Volleyball program is a part of the Archdiocese of Newark’s Bergen County CYO Athletic League. It is a non-coed league comprised of 5th – 8th graders who are either enrolled at St. John’s Academy or active in the St. John’s Parish CCD program.

Fall Season
  • Girls only, grades 5-8
  • Approximately 12-14 games from September to early November
  • Competitive season with playoffs and championship
  • 2 divisions: Junior Varsity (grade 5-6), Varsity (grade 7-8)
Spring Season
  • Open to Girls in grades 4-8 and Boys in grades 5-8
  • Approximately 10-12 games from April to early June
  • The boys season is a competitive season with playoffs and championship
  • The girls session is more developmentally focused, with games but no playoffs
  • Boys divisions: Junior Varsity (grade 5-6), Varsity (grade 7-8)
  • Girls divisions: Junior Varsity (grade 4-5), Varsity (grade 6-7), 8th Grade (grade 8 only)
Eligibility
  • Players must either be a student at St. John’s Academy, or be currently enrolled and active in the St. John’s Parish CCD program (or a neighboring RCAN parish that does not offer a volleyball program – with permission).
Age Requirements
Fall Season:
  • 5th or 6th graders must be no older than 12 as of August 31st.
  • 7th or 8th graders must be no older than 14 as of August 31st.

Spring Season:

  • Girls program open to 4th-8th graders
  • Boys program open to 5th-8th graders
Fees
  • Fall Registration: $160 per player
  • Spring registration: $160 boys, $130 girls
  • Jersey: $40 per player
